  • Why Veterans’ Hall? Building a Place to Belong

    • What happens when the uniform comes off, but the desire to serve, connect, and belong remains?
    • That question is at the heart of Veterans’ Hall of Fort Bend.
    • For generations, Veterans and military families have given so much in service to our country. But service doesn’t have to end when the uniform is hanging in the closet. In fact, we believe some of the most meaningful chapters can now begin — with new purpose and fresh opportunities to serve others.
    • Veterans’ Hall was born from that belief,  inspired from and encouraged by the successful “Patriots Hall Of Dripping Springs” (https://patriotshall.org/) we have collaborated with them to take what they started and make it our own. We have a working model of our vision and we know we can bring it to Fort Bend.
    • Our mission is simple: to empower and equip Veterans, military members, and their families through connection, resources, programs, and education—creating opportunities for continued service to one another and to our community.
    • A Home Base for the Military Community and all who want to serve them.
    • A place to meet an old friend.
      A place to make a new one.
      A place to find a resource, learn something new, get help finding a job, attend a class, bring the family, or simply sit down and share a cup of coffee with someone who understands.  Who better to understand than those have been there.  Who better to guide those looking at a future serving our country than those who have walked the path ahead of them. 
    • We envision a campus where Veterans, spouses, caregivers, children, parents, and Veteran organizations can come together. A place where military families can spend time together, and where organizations serving Veterans can have a consistent place to gather and collaborate.
    • Serving the Whole Family
    • Military service affects more than the person wearing the uniform.
    • That is why Veterans’ Hall is being designed with families in mind. Our vision includes spaces and opportunities for families to play, learn, relax, and connect—we want a playground and nature trails, outdoor gathering spaces, gyms, family activities, and access to professional therapy for couples and families.
    • Supporting a Veteran also means supporting the people who stood beside them, we will do this!
    • Creating New Opportunities
    • Veterans’ Hall will connect Veterans with workforce specialists, resume and interview assistance, budgeting and retirement workshops, entrepreneurship coaching, and military-friendly employers. Our goal is to help Veterans build financial independence and rewarding careers.
    • Where Generations Come Together
    • One of the things we love most about this vision is the opportunity to bring generations of Veterans together.
    • The “Old Guard” and the “Young Bucks” have different experiences, different stories, and different perspectives—but there is tremendous wisdom and strength in bringing them together. Veterans’ Hall will create opportunities for generations to share stories, memories, knowledge, and encouragement……and maybe some playful ribbing about who had it harder. 😉
    • Because sometimes the person who needs a little encouragement today will be the person giving it to someone else tomorrow.
    • This Belongs to All of Us
    • Veterans’ Hall will not be built by one person or one organization.
    • We need people willing to volunteer their time and talents. Businesses willing to support programs. Organizations willing to partner with us. And people who believe strongly enough in this vision to give, refer, share, and help us open doors that don’t exist yet.
    • And where the spirit of service continues long after the uniform is hung in the closet.
    • Veterans’ Hall is our vision for what can happen when a community comes together and says, “We haven’t forgotten you. We’re here. And there is still so much more we can do for one another.”
